Halloween at The Bay Filey
There is always lots going on in Yorkshire and during half term it is no different. Everything from witches to zombies will be out in force with several events taking place across Yorkshire and we will be grabbing our broomsticks and polishing our cauldrons here at The Bay Filey.
So head over to Yorkshire this half term (19 Oct - 5 Nov) and you will be guaranteed a range of family friendly events that will entertain, scare and amuse the whole family.

The emphasis is very much on fun for your half term getaway at The Bay Filey this Halloween and we will help you get into the spirit, you won’t be disappointed – whatever your age! We have a great assortment of activities throughout the autumn break, but the main events are on 24 and 31 October – the best nights of the year here on the beautiful Yorkshire coast.
Our leisure team are hosting a variety of pop up sessions including pumpkin carving and other creepy crafts to get everyone in the mood for the onset of darkness when the real fun starts. The entire village centre will be transformed into a Halloween extravaganza, complete with Addams family lookalikes to bring you plenty of tricks and treats on this night like no other.
Entertainment for kids
On the stroke of 5pm, bring the children along to a fancy-dress party at The John Paul Jones where they can enjoy Monster Mash musical bumps, prizes for the best Halloween costume, face painting and a drop of our delicious bug juice and swamp water punch.
The brave ones can even go through the door of darkness to enter our haunted maze, complete with spooky lighting, mirrors, dry ice, actors and things that go bump in the night.
At 6pm, all are invited to join us on the ‘trail of the lost lake’. Follow the clues, find sweet treats and don’t be scared!
Over the half term break there will also be a selection of pop-up sports sessions and activities such a balloon artists, face painting and cookie baking, so make sure you book your activities before you arrive.

Half Term Halloween at Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park

Illuminated Abbey at Whitby Abbey

Cast light on a dark history this Halloween! See Bram Stoker's inspiration in a new light as Whitby Abbey is bathed in dramatic illuminations once again. Have your camera at the ready as you explore the gothic splendour of the ruins lit up with all the colours of the rainbow.
And of course, it wouldn't be Halloween without the Count! See the story of Dracula brought to life before your very eyes within the abbey ruins all aglow, with a twist on their usual show.

Children and their scaredy-cat grownups will love meeting their silly, spectacular and sometimes spooky cast of storytellers. Hear their ghoulish tales, join in with their scary songs and be prepared for moments of magic. This will be an evening of Steam & Scream!
